Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her songs online in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently release single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time, wanted to have her create Rihanna reference. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream of the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13 she dropped two more singles titled The No One as well as Pdigree. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single in February 2019 for her debut album the same name. It was released with a music video in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December of 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
